DSP Group Powers the Majority of Certified CAT-iq 2.0 Devices

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group®, Inc. (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications at home and office, announced today that its cordless chipset solutions are powering the first CAT-iq 2.0-certified handset offered by Swissvoice, a leading European provider of innovative telecommunications systems. Anchored by DSP Group's industry-leading XceedR™ family of cordless chipset solutions, Swissvoice's IH 250 handset is one of a select number of CAT-iq 2.0 handsets certified by the DECT Forum. Given its advanced cordless technology capabilities, the handset delivers HD voice, including wideband audio, and a host of other cutting-edge features that enhance the user experience.

Leveraging its longstanding market leadership in cordless telephony, DSP Group has been instrumental in bringing CAT-iq 2.0 to market. With extensive experience in the development of ISDN multi-line phones, Swissvoice has implemented the best of its multi-line management capabilities in the IH 250. In addition to HD voice, the handset features a full duplex hands-free mode, high-quality polyphonic ringing, and excellent natural audio quality for customer conversations. Maintaining software-upgrade-over-the-air (SUOTA) capabilities, the IH 250 is future proof, while enabling service evolutions in the field. Interoperable with other CAT-iq 2-0 certified handsets, base stations and gateways, the IH 250 handset is expected to launch in Q1/2012.
