Sagemcom Handset Powered by DSP Group Chipset Receives CAT-iq 2.0 Certification

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sep 27, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) --

DSP Group(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications at home, and Sagemcom, a global high-technology group specializing in broadband terminals, convergence and energy solutions, announced today that Sagemcom's D46W handset has received CAT-iq 2.0 certification from the DECT Forum. Powered by DSP Group's XceedR family of cordless chipset solutions, the handset is one of a select number of products bearing certification of the CAT-iq (Cordless Advanced Technology -- Internet and Quality) 2.0 protocol. Leveraging its longstanding market leadership in cordless telephony, DSP Group has been at the forefront of CAT-iq technology since its inception. DSP Group has been deeply involved in all stages of defining the next-generation cordless technology through its affiliation with the DECT Forum and Home Gateway Initiative. "Our successful collaboration with Sagemcom in achieving CAT-iq 2.0 certification for its D46W handset is another step in strengthening our position in the ever-expanding cordless telephony industry."

It is important for Sagemcom to release CAT-iq 2.0 handsets with DSP Group technology to offer a complete eco system with gateways and handsets, and thus reinforce Sagemcom's leading position in this market in Europe," said Ahmed Selmani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sagemcom Broadband SAS.
