Swisscom’s Cutting-Edge Triple-Play Gateways Integrate DSP Group’s DECT/ULE Solution to Deliver HDVoice Quality

LOS ALTOS, Calif., Oct. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group®, Inc., (NASDAQ:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications and Swisscom, Switzerland’s leading telecom provider, announced today that DSP Group’s DCX81 DECT/ULE  System-on-a-Chip (SoC) will power Swisscom’s new gateway platform, delivering advanced CAT-iq features to the home.

The highly-integrated and cost-effective DCX81 SoC delivers full home HDVoice quality coverage, with embedded CAT-iq standard compliance that introduces advanced features to DECT cordless telephony including multi-line, multi-handset, phone book sharing and data applications. DCX81’s in-field software upgradability allows service providers like Swisscom to support the ULE (Ultra Low Energy) standard for IoT applications, enabling them to rapidly rollout solutions for home control, security and monitoring. Moreover, DSP Group’s solution enables connectivity with future wireless peripherals around the home.

"Swisscom continues to offer customers a best-in-class cordless IP home telephony experience. With DSP Group’s DCX81 SoC, CAT-iq compliance is guaranteed. This allows us to deliver superior HDVoice quality, as well as long range and seamless phone book sharing between connected handsets,” said Andreas Martschitsch, Head of Home Network at Swisscom. “Our customers will measurably benefit from the VoIP and CAT-iq handsets powered by DSP Group’s SoCs,” he concluded.

“We are very pleased that Swisscom made the strategic choice to integrate DECT in their range of home gateways,” said Mr. Ran Klier, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Europe and Americas for DSP Group. “The integration of DECT/ULE ensures crystal clear sound quality on the landline, together with IoT-ready infrastructure for future home applications,” he concluded.
