The Math-Link EDS enables engineers to bring a host of applications to market faster than ever before. EDS is a unique DSP software development environment that integrates the familiar MATLAB tool to target DSP real-time code. Now, for the first time, designers can leap over entire phases of the development cycle by going directly from MATLAB to target DSP real-time code. The EDS DSP Code generator and its advanced real-time and interactive debugger/analyzer, efficiently incorporates MATLAB algorithms into DSP SmartCores. This innovative method ensures early detection and solution of critical design and implementation difficulties. It simplifies the development cycle, thereby shortening the time-to-market and substantially reducing project risk and costs.

The SmartCores family includes four generations of licensable DSP Cores – PalmDSPCore®, TeakDSPCore®, OakDSPCore® and PineDSPCore®. The PalmDSPCore is a dual MAC parallel architecture, with three core versions, 16-, 20- and 24-bit fixed-point DSPs. TeakDSPCore is a family of two 16-bit fixed point DSP cores: the dual MAC Teak® and the single MAC TeakLite™. PalmDSPCore and TeakDSPCore cores are fully-synthesizable 'soft cores' which are process-independent and are easily implemented using any ASIC library.
